ANU College of Health & Medicine
FOR OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO STUDENT LEARNING
Dr Di Whiteman (AFHEA) redesigned and delivered the Phase 2 Clinical Skills program at ANU Medical School following her appointment as the inaugural Academic Coordinator of the program in 2020. Di’s experience as an emergency doctor, supervisor of medical students on clinical placements, and tutor at ANU Medical School provided the foundation to revitalise the program curriculum to extend and integrate students' prior learning whilst developing new knowledge and skills.
“We need students to understand, not simply remember, we need them to be able to apply knowledge,
and we need to be able to motivate them to do that. “Dr Di Whiteman
“When I hear the laughter emanating from the classrooms at the Clinical Skills Center at ANU Medical School, I know that my students are feeling safe while they’re developing confidence and competence in the skills required of them when they graduate.”Dr Di Whiteman
