AV Monthly Meet Up – a grass roots community of practice

2023 sees the continuation of the AV Innovators Meet Up – an idea built on the back of the AV Innovators (Teams Channel). The aim of the group is to foster networking and collaboration within the audiovisual and multimedia community at ANU, and to get those working in this space to share ideas and stories.

Restarted in 2022, previous editions have been hosted by the Centre for Learning and Teaching, School of Cybernetics, Fenner School, College of Science, College of Business and Economics, the Technology Enhanced Learning & Teaching (TELT) team from the Medical School and the College of Asia & the Pacific.

Each one generated a lot of positive energy with diverse members of the ANU community coming together and sharing stories, worries and ideas. Recent editions have also included hands on practice workshops and beginner sessions on photography, audio and more.

Staff from every ANU College and from different teams – marketing and communications, teaching support, engagement and events – mingled and discussed their work. The meetings provide a great opportunity for all to learn about the common threads and differences in the work of these teams, with the understanding that across our campus there are diverse needs, resource requirements for staffing and equipment, and AV content outcomes.

The coming together of this grass roots community has already led to some collaborations, skills sharing, testing of ideas and equipment lending. New participants are actively welcomed by all.

The fourth edition of 2023 be held on Wednesday 20th September and registrations are open here
