Wattle upgrade and outage

The University’s Learning Management System, Wattle, is being upgraded to the latest version of Moodle (4.0). As such, Wattle will be unavailable from the morning of Monday 5 December to the evening of Tuesday 6 December 2022. Students and staff will not be able to access Wattle during this time.

Wattle, the University’s Learning Management System, is being upgraded from Moodle 3.9 to Moodle 4.0. The upgrade will take place during the approved University IT Maintenance Dates on 5-6 December, 2022. As such, Wattle will be unavailable from the morning of Monday 5 December to the evening of Tuesday 6 December. During this time, staff and students will not be able to access Wattle.

Upon completion of the upgrade, all course content will be retained and made available in Moodle 4.0. Documentation outlining the key changes and new features to Moodle 4.0 will be created for staff and students in time for the release. Some of the features available as part of the upgrade will include:

  • a new look and feel
  • improved navigation across devices, and
  • a number of user experience enhancements focusing on organising course content, keeping learners up to date, and completing course activities.
